Blackstone Energy Transition Partners will invest $1.2 billion into building West Virginia’s first combined-cycle natural gas power plant.
The 600 MW facility, known as Wolf Summit Energy, will be located in Harrison County, West Virginia. It’s a welcome addition to a region struggling with skyrocketing electricity demand from data centers.
The power plant will serve the Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC), which provides power for more than 1.5 million residents across Virginia, Maryland and Delaware. Throughout construction, the facility is expected to create roughly 500 jobs.
