Baker Hughes Frame 5 gas turbines for natural gas power generation at data centers

Baker Hughes is supplying 10 gas turbines to Twenty20 Energy, supporting up to 250MW of power for data center projects in Georgia and Texas.

The order, which includes Frame 5 gas turbines and associated generator technology, is the first step toward a larger strategic agreement for multi-gigawatt power generation equipment between the two companies. First deliveries are scheduled for 2027.

This isn’t just about turbines. It’s about project timelines. Data center developers can no longer assume grid power will be available when needed.

In markets like Georgia and Texas, rising data center activity is increasing pressure on existing grid capacity, creating uncertainty around when new facilities can actually come online. By securing dedicated generation capacity at this stage, Twenty20 Energy is compressing the critical path between site selection and energization. The binding constraint for AI infrastructure is no longer just chips or real estate, it’s power when you need it.

In a market where equipment lead times influence construction schedules, confirmed supply provides developers and communities with planning certainty.
