Digital infrastructure portfolio including data centers and fiber networks acquired by SoftBank

In a $4 billion deal, SoftBank is acquiring DigitalBridge.

Softbank is looking to expand its involvement in AI, and this deal gives them plenty more exposure to digital infrastructure.

DigitalBridge is involved in not only data centers, but cell towers, fiber networks, small-cell systems and other edge infrastructure. They are one of the world’s largest investors solely focused on digital infrastructure, managing roughly $108 billion worth of assets.

After the announcement, DigitalBridge saw their shares grow 10%. They will continue to be run by current CEO Marc Ganzi as a separate entity.
