Advanced nuclear power campus site in Pike County Ohio for Meta data centers

Advanced nuclear developer Oklo Inc is teaming up with Meta to develop a 1.2 GW power campus in Pike County, Ohio.

Once complete, the facility will help power Meta data centers in the state. The first power is expected to come online in 2030, with the full 1.2 GW to follow by 2034. To help support the project, the agreement requires Meta to prepay for power and provide additional funding to advance Oklo’s development in the region.

According to Jacob DeWitte, Oklo’s co-founder and CEO, “We have finalized the purchase of over 200 acres in Pike County and are excited to announce this agreement in support of a multi-year effort with Meta to deliver clean energy and create long-term, high-quality jobs in Ohio.” Ohio sits within PJM, the nation’s largest grid serving 67 million people. PJM has been struggling recently to secure enough power in light of today’s rapid demand growth.

This new development with Oklo is a step in the right direction, securing firm and clean power for the long term that can support data centers and AI for decades to come.
