Canadian natural gas firm Certarus Ltd. has agreed to supply 50 MW of off-grid gas to an unnamed major US data center developer.
Certarus’ solution will serve as a temporary bridge while the hyperscaler works on building a permanent pipeline connection.
The company specializes in temporary energy solutions through mobile compressed natural gas (CNG) units. Their platform includes portable compression, logistics management, mobile storage units, on‑site gas delivery systems, and real-time equipment monitoring.
This is yet another example of natural gas companies getting into the data center business. We can expect to continue to see collaboration between these two industries as demand from AI explodes across the country.
